Justin was born in Dallas and raised between Richardson and Corsicana Texas. By the time he was 14 he had already spent time in juvenile detention and would spend the majority of his teenage years in jails and institutions. By the time Justin was in his early 20’s he had already kicked a lengthy heroin addiction but began drinking instead. As a skilled carpenter and tradesman he found that alcohol was the drug of choice among his peers and soon he was drinking daily in excess. Not long after his 30th birthday, Justin injured his back and became addicted to painkillers. After another lengthy battle with addiction he decided to seek help. With the assistance of a few family members Justin checked himself into a facility and began to detox from both opiates and alcohol. Not long after he completed detox he immersed himself in the recovery community, attending several meetings a week as well as volunteering for service work opportunities. Justin has a passion for helping others afflicted by the disease of addiction and tries to share his experience wherever he can make a difference.
