Overview
At Patton Sober Living we focus on healing the Mind, Body and Spirit. It's our belief that addiction takes time to heal. Our Founder & CEO, John Patton, has created a program designed to help young adults succeed. Through his personal and professional life experience, John has come to understand addiction as a disease that can be treated over time.

All Patton Sober Living staff are in recovery and are passionate about helping our residents live a fun, sober life. We realize that it takes structure, accountability and support for this to occur. At Patton Sober Living, we view our work as more of a calling than a job. The disease of addiction is real, but if treated properly it can be overcome.

People often complete 30, 60 or 90 days of inpatient treatment and immediately feel they've been healed. The fact is, individuals who leave treatment and immediately return to their old environment are significantly more susceptible to relapse. Research shows that the number one factor in a young adult's successful recovery from addiction is peer support post inpatient treatment.

Patton Sober Living provides a safe, structured environment with the peer support necessary for long-term recovery. A highly structured sober living home with much needed accountability is instrumental in continuing the transformation which begins in inpatient treatment.

Please feel free to contact us at anytime. All calls are strictly confidential. If we're not the right place for you then we'll help you find the place that is.

J. Joseph Walsh V
Title:
Recovery Advocate
Bio
Joseph grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. With alcohol and mental illness in his family, his parents did the best they could to educate him about the dangers of addiction. But, as he grew older, curiosity got the better of him, and he soon found himself addicted to drugs. What started as something fun to do with friends soon brought about isolation and some nasty consequences. After multiple treatment centers, Joseph found himself homeless, alone, and broken. Reaching out for help, he received the option to go to a final rehabilitation center, Capstone. Upon completing this treatment, Joseph knew it would not be enough. Research and insight from trusted friends led him to Patton Sober Living. He lived at Patton House for a year, and proceeded to get a house in Dallas as he continues his education. Joseph's unique perspective, being a former resident of Patton Sober Living, has helped him relate on a deeper level to clients, and to better encourage them in recovery.

Matison McCool
Title:
Recovery Advocate
Bio
Matison spent most of his childhood in the Dallas suburb of McKinney, Texas. Alcoholism and addiction run deep on both sides of his family and he recalls feeling very different at a young age. He never felt like he quite fit in even with close friends, that there was something strange about himself. He began experimenting with alcohol at a young age which eventually progressed into an addiction to cocaine and heroin. He thought that all of the drugs and alcohol were filling that void he felt when he was young. He later realized that it was but a symptom of something greater. The disease left him in jail, broke, homeless, and out of options. He wound up at The Dallas 24 Hour Club, where his life turned around. With the help of the twelve steps, and a community of support, he is now working on his degrees in Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas where he is a student worker at The Center for Students in Recovery, as well as the president and co-creator of the student organization Students For Recovery. He is deeply involved in the recovery community both on and off campus and committed to helping other young people find their own path to becoming sober as well as useful to themselves and especially those around them.

Justin Blanton
Bio

Justin was born in Dallas and raised between Richardson and Corsicana Texas. By the time he was 14 he had already spent time in juvenile detention and would spend the majority of his teenage years in jails and institutions. By the time Justin was in his early 20’s he had already kicked a lengthy heroin addiction but began drinking instead. As a skilled carpenter and tradesman he found that alcohol was the drug of choice among his peers and soon he was drinking daily in excess. Not long after his 30th birthday, Justin injured his back and became addicted to painkillers. After another lengthy battle with addiction he decided to seek help. With the assistance of a few family members Justin checked himself into a facility and began to detox from both opiates and alcohol. Not long after he completed detox he immersed himself in the recovery community, attending several meetings a week as well as volunteering for service work opportunities. Justin has a passion for helping others afflicted by the disease of addiction and tries to share his experience wherever he can make a difference.

Misti Monk
Title:
Women's House Manager
Bio
Picture
Misti grew up with a loving family in a small town in central Louisiana. She discovered drugs and alcohol at the young age of 14; drinking and using was the solution to all her problems and the ultimate escape from life. Despite graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences in 2004, a Master’s of Occupational Therapy in 2006, and once what seemed to be a promising professional career it was evident that the disease of alcoholism and addiction had her beaten. With those around her fearing for her life they urged her to seek help. Despite many consequences including professional, financial, relational, and legal it wasn't until she found herself completely shattered and emotionally bankrupt that she entered treatment in early 2015 and sober living afterwards. There through embracing the 12 steps she found the true solution to living life one day at a time. Today she is able to be mentally and emotionally present in relationships and be of service to others by carrying the message of her experience, strength, and hope to detox units at local hospitals. She is focused on recovery and feels extremely privileged to be given the opportunity to be in a position to help other addicts and alcoholics each day.

Adam Tripp
Title:
House Manager
Bio
Adam was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. The son of a drug dealing addict, Adam was born into a life plagued by addiction. Some of his earliest memories are of drug paraphernalia and the ever-revolving door of addicts in and out of his home. Having always felt different and less than those around him, Adam discovered drugs at the age of eleven and this became his solution for the next twenty-two years of his life. Although he experienced many consequences stemming from his addiction (loss of friends and family, prison stints, and homelessness), he was never exposed to a real solution until 2013. Adam was introduced to a 12 step program and after hearing a story similar to his own during a meeting, he built up the courage to ask for help. Excited by his newfound freedom, Adam has become very involved in the recovery community. He started the first 12 step meeting specifically tailored for opiate addicts in the state of Texas and is a constantly carrying the message to treatment centers in the area.
