Overview

Second Chances Sober Living is an intimate sober living community for men and women in recovery. Founded by fellow members of the recovery community, our mission is to create a comfortable haven for those seeking to extend their support into recovery.

With a live-in house manager, Second Chances provides a serene, safe, and structured environment.  In addition to offering all of the amenities of home (cable, highspeed wifi, washer/dryer), Second Chances was planned to be convenient to twelve-step meetings, local colleges and universities, career and workforce centers, and the downtown Austin business districts.

At Second Chances, we encourage our clients to develop their strengths in all aspects of their lives.  Help is available for finding employment or volunteer opportunities, including resume workshops and career counseling.  Set in a residential neighborhood but close to downtown, Second Chances is the perfect place to foster and encourage growth in recovery.

Here at Second Chances, we want success for everyone who comes here to stay.  We want you to be proud of your surroundings, gain a sense of positivity, and to be able to turn to your fellow housemates.  We will work hard for trust and respect, and give you the dignity you need in order to become the new you.

Second Chances
I came from Daytona Beach FL to move into Second Chances near Downtown Austin TX... Coming into the house I was almost tapered off the Suboxone. Within 1 and a half months of being in the house, I was given the tools and self-esteem by Jeff & David to finally break my last chain from the years of painkiller abuse. It is a high accountability sober house. So you are held to rules and given a sense ... more of structure. Meetings, chores, and a job are the big 3, but Jeff and David work each client in a personal manor so you benefit from their wisdom. Jeff who owns Second Chances, gives you the drive to start working the 1st week in the house. Personally what I loved the most, was that Jeff always was planting that seed inside your mind about the next job that is better and higher paying. Also David the house manager, who has over 20 years of knowledge in his head, always has his door open for you to talk with him and if need be, get issues off your chest. I stayed 2 months and had a great high paying job at The Home Depot close to the house. Now it's been 2 months since I moved out (4 months in Austin). I'm living with a beautiful woman in Cedar Park that I met while still at the house, Upgraded my employment to Toyota of Cedar Park, willingly attend 3-5 meeting a week still, and get to enjoy a life of sobriety that I thought was just a dream a year ago.
